Summer Internship Programme
The Eversheds Summer Internship Programme (SIP) gives graduates who are interested in a career in law the opportunity to work with some of Ireland’s best lawyers. Our 11 week programme gives our interns a full insight into the workings of a commercial law firm and what it would be like to work as a trainee with us.
The timing and structure of our programme ensures real legal/business exposure. Unlike other internships, our interns have time to show their value and build relationships. Our SIP is a win-win programme enabling us to identify talent while our interns add to their knowledge base and make an informed decision on their future career.
As a summer intern with Eversheds you will be assigned to a team in one of our three main departments; Commercial, Property or Litigation, or one of our specialist areas which consist of; Employment, Funds, Tax, Healthcare, Pensions, Construction or Banking. Reporting directly to the partner of that team, your workload will be varied and interesting. You will be given the responsibility equal to that of a trainee. We feel that the 11 week period really allows our interns to fully experience the realities of what life as a trainee with the firm would be like.
At the end of your 11 week rotation each intern is invited to interview for our traineeship programme.
The Eversheds Summer Internship Programme runs from mid April to July each summer. Please note that all applicants should be available for the full 11 weeks.
Interns experience first-hand what it is like to be a trainee by getting involved in deals and transactions that take place in the Firm and interact with people from all sections of the Firm including; partners, solicitors and trainees.
The main benefits of our SIP are:
- A stimulating, challenging and rewarding internship with exposure to real clients
- Payment of a weekly salary and holiday entitlement
- Increased knowledge through a series of lunch time seminars and know-how sessions with some of Ireland’s leading lawyers
- Development of professional relationships in both a business and social setting
- A training contact (subject to performance).
What our interns have said about our programme
"My participation in the Eversheds Summer Internship Programme was an immensely rewarding experience, both personally and professionally. It afforded me a genuine opportunity to prove myself, to show that I was capable of taking responsibility for any and all tasks associated with the role of a trainee solicitor. I am confident that the Eversheds Summer Internship programme is of the highest calibre."
Robert Vard, Trainee Solicitor
“What stood out greatly during my internship was the friendly atmosphere of the Firm. From our first day, we received a welcome and there was a sincere emphasis on facilitating our needs to ensure we gained as much as possible from the experience. There was also ample opportunity to give feedback or discuss any concerns, which were taken on board.”
Sally Doyle, Former Intern and Trainee Solicitor for 2013 intake
"I found the Eversheds Summer Internship to be invaluable. The programme provides a level of exposure and responsibility that is a step above other internships. It is demanding and extremely rewarding and allowed me to make some great friends along the way."
Jamie Rattigan, Trainee Solicitor
