CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY
We
believe that business success is about more than financial performance; our global
operation should also be measured in terms of its social and environmental impact.
We have an extensive record in corporate responsibility and at any given time we’re
working and innovating in many areas.
All employees are entitled to take a paid day each year to take part in a CR activity and trainees will be invited to take part in a three day event in the days leading up to the start of their training. Trainees also get the opportunity to do a secondment at the Legal Advice centres across the country.
The examples below are just a fraction of what we’re involved in.
Developing our workplace for the benefit of all of our people
We have profit share schemes in place and a modern, responsive flexible working scheme. Personal Development Reviews are an opportunity for everybody to sit own with a peer and have an open discussion about their performance.
Promote sustainable growth through responsible and
innovative business practice
Balancing our business ambitions with our commitment to corporate responsibility calls for careful planning. The recent appointment of a Risk Director to manage our growing operations, particularly abroad, reflects how seriously we take this issue.
Minimise our impact on the environment
Environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice are the minimum standard that we should aim for. We have a raft of practical measures in place – from waste recycling to travel policy – that help us exceed them.
Positively engage with the communities in which we work
We’re around the country we’re involved in a remarkable range of activities; from city farms to ‘starter kits’ for homeless people and educational centres, Eversheds people (and the firm itself) give their time and energy to countless community projects.
