TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
At Eversheds, career development, profit sharing and training are subject to constant innovation. We have obtained ‘Corporate Investors in People’ (CIIP) recognition and our approach to learning and development is underpinned by these principles.
Our clients value our business advice, as well as our legal expertise, so learning classic business skills and sharpening your commercial acumen form an important part of the training process. As well as learning the technical skills required for the practice areas that comprise the four six month seats, you’ll also take part in a full programme of personal and commercial development skills training. This will include finance and business, sales, communication, presenting, business writing, client care, professional standards and advocacy.
PSC and development process
All our trainees attend the Professional Skills Course (PSC), which covers the compulsory subjects of finance and business skills, client care and professional standards, and advocacy and communication skills.
The training contract
Being a trainee at Eversheds is your chance to develop the skills and experience you need to be a fully qualified lawyer. It’s our chance to give you the training that will last you a lifetime. Every one of our recruits receives a high level of supervision with our aim being to retain all our trainees on qualification. During each seat of your training contract, you’ll have a supervisor who will give you regular feedback. You will also receive formal feedback through an appraisal system that takes place in the middle and at the end of each seat.
