VACATION SCHEMES
We run vacation placement schemes in each of our offices, a one-week scheme at Easter in some offices and a two-week scheme in the summer. The schemes are a great opportunity for candidates to get a real feel for what Eversheds is all about, and to experience the kind of work we do.
If you take part in one our placement schemes, you’ll get to spend time in two different departments closely aligned with your individual preferences wherever possible. You’ll be paid £240 a week (London) and work closely with qualified solicitors and trainees on real projects for real clients. There will be opportunities to go to court, meet clients, assist with research and draft documents, and meet partners, solicitors and trainees of the firm in a social setting. We’ll also arrange a series of informal talks to give you information about the firm, our practice areas and our people, and you’ll get to take part in one of our many corporate responsibility projects. We welcome applications from penultimate year students, as well as candidates who’ve already graduated or taken different career paths.
Most of our vacation students are amazed at the level of work they can get involved in.
You apply online between 1 October 2008 and 31 January 2009 and then take two ability tests during which we screen you against set criteria.
If you are shortlisted, we will invite you to our offices for an interview with one of our partners. These schemes are very popular; early application is vital. If you make it onto the vacation scheme and do exceptionally well, you may be offered a future training contract and support with your studies.
