Newcastle Eversheds office – The Skills evening
So you’re thinking of a career in law? There’s a lot of competition out there and you need to get an edge. That’s why Eversheds, one of the world’s largest law firms, is running the Skills Evening where you can discover the realities of commercial life. You’ll also get to meet our people, find out about the fantastic opportunities available at our firm and receive valuable hints on how to prepare for the recruitment process.
There will be 3 sessions:
- How to perform well at assessment centres
Including a mock interview, performed by one of our current trainees. We will show you how to and how not to perform well at interview. - A commercial awareness exercise
An interactive workshop where you will gain an invaluable insight into how to develop that elusive quality of being commercially aware. Through this workshop, you will find out what it takes to develop an understanding of the business world in which our clients’ and their customers operate and why this matters. - Question Time
A rare opportunity for you to really ask the questions you always wanted to! Our panel of solicitors from different levels within Eversheds from newly qualified up to Neil Rowe, the Graduate Recruitment Partner will give you an account of what their jobs really entail and then give you the chance to ask any questions.

UEA – Big Deal Event – Big Deal
You’ll be taking part in a realistic simulation of big business by working on a deal involving several parties. The parties want to merge and, depending on who you represent, you’ll be involved in activities ranging from, brokering agreements and creating marketing strategies to hosting a press conference The session ends in the boardroom where everything is, hopefully, thrashed out to a successful conclusion. Along the way you’ll learn an enormous amount about commercial reality, teamwork, the law and the art of persuasion.
