Loretta is dually-qualified (Paris and Rome Bars) and she is of counsel in our litigation group. She specialises in international arbitration, both commercial and investment arbitration, and public international law.

 

Her recent experience includes:

• Counsel for two different States in ICSID proceedings arising out of large infrastructure projects;
• Counsel for a State in proceedings before the International Court of Justice regarding maritime delimitation;
• Counsel for a State in proceedings before an ad hoc tribunal regarding sovereignty over territory; 
• Party-appointed arbitrator in an ICC arbitration involving a State arising out of a franchising construction dispute.

Loretta is a Vice-President of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce ("ICC"). She has written articles on investment arbitration and State-to-State litigation and is the co-author of "The ICSID Convention - A commentary" published by Cambridge University Press in 2009. She is managing editor of the Journal "The Law and Practice of International Courts and Tribunals". She is regarded by Chambers Global as a leading individual in international arbitration.

 

Loretta is a regular speaker at conferences on international arbitration and public international law. Loretta is also a member of the Commission on Arbitration of the ICC, the ILA, the IBA, the American Society of International Law, the French Society of International Law and the Italian Society of International Law.

Loretta est "of counsel" au sein du département contentieux. Elle est inscrite aux barreaux de Paris et de Rome et est spécialisée en arbitrage international et en droit international public.

Elle a récemment représenté:

• deux Etats dans des affaires soumises au règlement CIRDI concernant des grands projets d'infrastructure,
• un Etat dans le cadre de poursuites devant la Cour Internationale de Justice concernant la délimitation de frontières maritimes,
• un Etat devant un tribunal arbitral ad hoc concernant un différend territorial,
• elle agit en tant que co-arbitre dans une procédure arbitrale CCI concernant un différend en matière de construction impliquant un Etat;

Loretta est un des Vice-Présidents de la Cour international d'Arbitrage de la Chambre de Commerce Internationale (ICC). Elle a écrit de nombreux articles sur l'arbitrage dans le secteur des investissements, le contentieux entre Etats et est co-auteur de l'ouvrage "The ICSID Convention - A Commentary" published by Cambridge University Press en 2009. Elle est également rédactrice en chef du journal "The Law and Practice of International Courts and Tribunals". Elle est recommandée par Chambers Global comme un praticien de premier plan dans le domaine de l'arbitrage international.

 

Elle participe régulièrement à des conférences en matière d'arbitrage international et de droit international public. Loretta est aussi membre de la Commission d'Arbitrage de la CCI, de l'ILA, de l'IBA, de la Société Américaine de Droit International, de la Société Française pour le Droit International et de l'Association Italienne pour le Droit International.
