Eversheds' commercial work involves a diverse range of legal advice for our local authority clients. This includes dealing with core commercial projects, through specialist public law areas (such as charging and trading and CPA), to information law and procurement.

Some of our most innovative work has been done in this area, including:

major projects, whether under PFI, traditional outsourcing or strategic partnerships/PPPs; through to the newer forms of BSF and LIFT, we have engineered innovative contract structures and mechanisms
our project work interfaces with our IT capability in relation to IT outsourcing, major broadband projects or IT based strategic partnerships
information law in its widest sense, including Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts, access to information in local government and the Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations
procurement - we have a national group of lawyers who are experts in the EU procurement rules, structuring major procurement exercises and interpreting procurement law
analysing and implementing the Gershon agenda, including joint public sector working, charging and trading, procurement of services and new vehicles for service delivery
specialist services, such as tax and VAT; intellectual property; competition and State aid law advice in relation to a variety of public commercial transactions, in both property and commercial fields.
