Our transport experience

Roads

We have extensive experience in advising on new road schemes together with road maintenance and renewal schemes. This includes advising:

• Transport for London on their current streets maintenance contracts
• Gloucester County Council on a term framework partnering contract for highways engineering services and maintenance work
• Somerset County Council in respect of framework contracts for highways maintenance contracts.

This expertise increasingly involves the use of the NEC forms of contract and frame working partnering arrangements. We are also on the panel for the Highways Agency advising on various road schemes.

Underground rail

We advise Tube Lines on contractual arrangements for the enhancement and improvement of its rail infrastructure, involving wide use of the NEC form of contract.

Major enhancement schemes

We advised Metronet on the Kings Cross Underground redevelopment and advise LUL on station refurbishment schemes.

Mainline railway contract

We have advised on major rail enhancements including the West Coast Mainline enhancement and overhead power line contracts.

Airports

We advise Birmingham and Newcastle airports on a wide range of airport enhancements including terminal expansions, departure lounge, baggage handling and air rail links.

Bridges and tunnels

We have wide expertise in dealing with a variety of bridges and tunnels for both road and rail transport and in particular in complex and crowded urban areas in particular the City of London.

Light rail

Advising a North West Passenger Transport executive on construction issues relating to its light railway transport system.
