Highlights
Eversheds has a strong tradition of community investment. We are national members of the Business in the Community campaigns 'Cares' and 'Pro-Help' (which promote and co-ordinate effective community engagement), have previously been awarded LawWorks' Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year, and received numerous external awards for our volunteering work across the country
Eversheds believes in supporting people in the communities close to our offices, making our operations part of that community. We manage our resources to try and have real impact, working in partnership with local charities, schools, colleges and other not for profit organisations. In fact we undertake around 20,000 hours of community investment work each year. We set ourselves this figure as a benchmark. Our challenge year on year is to further develop the quality of our activity so that we deliver greater consistency and impact.
Increasingly, we have a mixture of cross-office programmes as well as region-specific relationships. Our UK offices have a partner responsible for the development and management of community investment as well as a Community Investment Manager and supporting local steering group.
Social issues we focus on are pro bono legal advice, homelessness and education.
