Finance

We provide a world class service to our business in the areas of financial operations, commercial accounting, financial reporting and control, partner services, and internal audit. Eversheds looks for individuals at all levels and provide support to those who want to achieve various professional qualifications such as AAT, CIMA and, ACCA.

Quality 

The quality team works with both lawyers and business services colleagues around the business on a variety of projects aimed at improving the way we do things, and helping to streamline the way we work through the development of processes and procedures. Quality helps the business to work more efficiently, focusing on doing the job right, first time, every time.

The team is made up of people from different backgrounds, ages and experiences. We have trained solicitors, IT specialists and people with a background in customer service and client care.

Secretarial

Secretaries are held in very high regard at Eversheds. We realise the vital function they play in ensuring our lawyers are able to deliver service excellence. We don't just want people who are great typists, but individuals who can think on their feet, work well with our clients but above all be proactive in ensuring things get done as promised. Personal perspective

Keryn Davidson, Project Coordinator

"I joined Eversheds in 2005 as the secretary to three Business Quality Managers within the quality team. During induction I was informed of the variety of training courses that Eversheds offers its employees. I quickly used these to my advantage, attending as many courses as possible to improve both my IT and interpersonal skills. I soon found that I was putting these skills into practice - as well as setting up team systems and processes, I also began taking a more active role in the wider projects of the team. This was encouraged by my managers, who ensured I was given a variety work, which alongside my secretarial duties, would continue to challenge me.

"In 2007, a six-month secondment as project coordinator became available within the team. After discussion with my line manager I decided to apply for the position and following the interview process was offered the role. I found that I was able to put the skills that I had been developing over the previous two years fully into practice. I was immediately supporting the Business Quality Managers at a much higher level, taking on large areas of their projects to work on and delivering the required results. By the end of the six months I was running my own meetings, travelling to different offices and meeting new people, conducting research, compiling and writing reports and creating and implementing new business processes across the firm.

"When the secondment came to an end I was offered the position on a permanent basis and I haven't looked back. Not only have I continued to develop in my role, I am continuously challenged and always encouraged to push myself that extra step further. I feel that I am now on a steady career path which will allow me to take that next step, should and when another opportunity arise."
