Kuljit Ghata-Aura is a partner in Eversheds' international corporate and commercial practice, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. 

Kuljit specialises in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, initial and secondary public offerings, general corporate advisory and commercial work across a number of sectors including energy, real estate, TMT and financial services.

Selected transactions include:

  • acting for the national oil corporation of a Middle Eastern country on the divestment of its European down-stream operations
  • acting for Duelguide PLC (the holding company for real estate investment group, Chelsfield) on its £2.2 billion takeover by a consortium including Westfied and Multiplex
  • acting for Brascan Corporation on its joint venture with Barclays Capital on their acquisition of 20 Canada Square for £337.5m
  • acting for Baugur Group on their acquisition of Mappin & Webb from European Venture Capital for £19m
  • acting for Warburg Pincus on its £407m acquisition of Luxembourg-based telecommunications company MACH S.a.r.l
  • acting for Lloyds TSB Development Capital on the sale of Telecom Service Centres to Hero Group for £40m
  • acting for SBS Broadcasting on various transactions, including its acquisition of Scandinavian pay-tv company C More Group AB from Nordic and Baker Capital for £172m and its joint venture with Bonnier AB and the combination of their Scandinavian radio assets
  • acting for SDI Group PLC on its £52m initial public offering on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange.

Kuljit is also a member of Eversheds' India Group and visited India with the London Stock Exchange as part of a delegation to promote the AIM market speaking at conferences in New Delhi and Mumbai.

Kuljit contributed the chapter on English law in the third edition of "International Business Acquisitions - Major Legal Issues and Due Diligence" published by the World Law Group.
