Issues facing the further education sector
The challenges for colleges revolve the freedom to change the Instrument & Articles, increased emphasis on larger, more business-like colleges and increasing merger and collaboration activity. There is increased pressure on governing bodies.
How we can help
We can help with all these areas. Recent projects include:
- numerous merger projects
- governance advice including publishing the Annotated Guide to the Instrument and Articles of Government as part of our governance service for the FE Sector
- estates redevelopment projects
- setting up academies and UTCs
As well as working with FECs, we also work with a number of sector bodies in the FE sector and are regularly asked to speak at sector conferences and events. Recently we have:
- delivered interactive sessions at the National AoC conference
- delivered interactive sessions at the AoC HR conference
- delivered interactive sessions at the AoC Health & Safety conference
- delivered sessions at ACER and AOSEC events.
