We have been their preferred lawyers since 1993, historically dealing with UK aspects only, we have now been appointed as their EMEA M&A Counsel. This company has 125 divisions, 292 plants in 85 countries, 3,200 products and over 60,000 employees.

Acting on a number of mergers and acquisitions in the UK, including a takeover for £251million.

Our relationship with this US Stock Exchange listed company dates back to 2000. It's global HQ is in America and has operations in around 40 countries. They manufacture industrial-grade power infrastructure products and speciality diagnostic tools. The product range is diverse, ranging from pumps and valves to power transformers and speciality automotive diagnostic tools.
Work has included:

Acting on a number of acquisitions and disposals, including a recent disposal, which involved operations in the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands.

Acting on the acquisition of a global manufacturer of process equipment which involved 40 jurisdictions.

Providing compliance training to their UK operations since 2000, involving areas such as anti-trust, environmental, contract issues, HR and corporate governance.

Providing company secretarial services to their UK companies through our company secretarial unit.

Global automation group:
Initially the General Counsel of this global company was sceptical that a single firm could be used for all global advice and was of a firm view that advice should be sought from different firms, selected on a county-by-country basis.
As a result of the downturn, this organisation were faced with having to implement a reduction to their workforce. We were able to persuade them that it would be better to use one firm to co-ordinate this work. We used our network of offices and best-friend firms to deliver advice to the company across Europe and Asia.
The project was led by our HR team in Belgium and involved 50 territories. The advice was provided on time and on budget and the General Counsel wrote to us to commend us on a fantastic job.
