Employment webinars
Post-election HR
While the coalition has resulted in uncertainty in some areas, there is now a level of detail worthy of scrutiny. In this webinar recording, Audrey Williams and David Beswick draw on insights obtained through work with government bodies, employers groups and other contacts, as well as analyse recent policy and manifesto statements. They offer views on how the new government is likely to shape the law in the workplace and will focus on the key areas, including:
- the phasing out of the default retirement age and whether the government is likely to make other changes as a consequence
- whether provisions of the Equality Act 2010 will be delayed or not taken forward, such as the socio-economic duty and positive action in recruitment
- the approach to negotiating EU regulations, particularly in the light of the current review of the Working Time Directive
- how family-friendly rights, including maternity/paternity leave, might be changed and at what cost to employers
- prospects for a reduction in employment regulation, including promises of a 'one in, one out' rule.
