IP projects
Intellectual property, when managed effectively, delivers value to any business and Eversheds' IP lawyers have vast experience of helping clients, on both a national and international basis, do just that.
Many organisations will have specific projects directed towards the capture or management of IP assets and the development of products/technologies, maybe as part of a plan for further investment or disposal. We have significant experience of working, as an extension of the client team, on stand-alone technology/IP projects, assisting in the delivery of the project goals, often against tight time scales and complex requirements. Our experience in this area spans a variety of sectors (including IT, retail, automotive, bio-pharma, education and government).
Recent experience of our project-related work includes:
-
The development and implementation of strategies for product development and IP value enhancement for clients in many technology sectors, including bio-pharma, IT and engineering.
-
Urgent IP audits on a range of automotive designs and technologies.
-
Project managing the alignment of IP policy of two higher education institutions on their merger.
-
A large-scale multi-party contracting project for the further development of interactive educational technologies and programme materials.
-
For a central government department, conducting a large number of IP audits over a large range of materials/products to analyse and understand the IP ownership position and subsequent IP large-scale licensing and transfer exercise.
On this last project, the client commented:
"The team's performance throughout the 18-month project has been to a very high standard. They have demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the areas for which they were retained, responsiveness to our demands (often at short notice) and enthusiasm for delivering the project. We have found in all engagements that the Eversheds team were professional, knowledgeable and personable, all of which made them a critical part of the delivery team."
